Our visit to Khetrinagar, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan

Our visit to khetrinagar from 22 November 2011 to 29 November 2011. Khetri Nagar is a small town ship in Jhunjhunu District in Rajasthan. I worked at Khetri Copper Complex for about 26 years. I left Khetri Copper Complex, Khetri Copper Mines, during the last week of February 2006 along with a book in my hand (Bhagavad Gita). N G Nair and Sarla Nair.
N G Nair, an Indian Blogger, my life  I will be making blog entries that will eventually become a biography of my life.  N G Nair the only name you can trust on mining consultancy.
The history of Copper Mining at Khetri. Abstracts from the published work at Copper Mining India (1980 - 2009) is given below. Mining was flourishing at Khetri during Indus Valley civilisation. The oldest hill range of the Aravalli hills form the host for copper mineralization, giving raise to a 76 km long metallogenetic province, from Singhana to Raghunathgarh, best known as Khetri Copper Belt. Though regular mining ceased in this area by 1872, sporadic mining activity continued till 1910. With the advent of 20th century, the geologists of Geological Survey of India carried out preliminary geological work without much success. With the basic geological information in hand, Jaipur Mining Corporation entered the fray in 1944, carried out surface exploration through 4 diamond drill holes and did some aditing in the area. After holding the lease for 10 years till 1955, discouraged by the results, they wound up the programme of exploration and mining. View more photo of my visit November 2011

August 15, 1947, the most important day in the history of India, the day when the long suppressed nation found utterance, it was the day when India got independence from the British rule. The stroke of the midnight brought with it a ray of new hope for India, as our first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru said, the world was asleep but India awoke to life and freedom. A new nation was born! Since then August 15 is celebrated as the independence day in India every year.
